Stenciling on a cloudy day

I recently tried stenciling for a work related project. I decided to try it out in my free time as a new extension of my art. In thinking about what would be worthy of a stencil, I decided to make a brand for myself. If I continue to use “FatFeminisTina” as a pen name and general alter ego, I might as well start thinking about what I want that to look like.

I started with 1 transparency sheet (NOT THE BEST MATERIAL FOR THIS) an exacto knife, a marker, and printed text that I wanted to trace.

I know that transparencies are generally too brittle and thin to work well, but it’s what I had on hand. I think it’s a good exercise in patience to do something the hard way. I mean, ultimately the outcome is half my intentions and half the experience of producing it. I guess this is my way of not stressing about the outcome too much.

So I did three sheets of prints.

The Stencil I scanned as well and used for my new header. . .

I think I’m going to work on stenciling some more!
