Rules of public washing

The other day, as I was in the middle of doing my laundry when I stumbled upon a laundry etiquette conundrum. There was a sign taped over the dryer door left by my landlords-

What is the proper etiquette?

I clearly wanted the offending tenants to get the message, but I also wanted to use the dryer . . .  so I emptied the laundry into a heap, attached the note, put the lint in a pile next to the clothes and did a brief photoshoot.

I saw the managers later that day and they thanked me for leaving the clothes.

I must say that I thought I’d seen overstuffed dryers (and might’ve been guilty of a few) but that pile of clothes was towering, and when I went to clean the lint trap the trap came out clean- but the lint was sticking out and I had to shove my hand down in the hole to scoop it all out.

So, thought of the day- Clean up after yourself in the laundry room and don’t do shit that’s going to break down the machine for everyone else that needs to use it!
